About
Mireille Giroux is a mediator, arbitrator, and Vice-Chair of the Ontario Labour Relations Board. As a mediator and arbitrator, Mireille works with employers, unions, and employees in the public sector, private sector, and construction industry to resolve labour relations and employment disputes.
Mireille was called to the Bar in Ontario in 2013 after receiving her law degree from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. She worked as a labour lawyer for 10 years at a law firm specialized in labour law, during which she represented clients in mediation, arbitration and before administrative tribunals and courts. She also taught collective bargaining law at Osgoode Hall Law School at York University. She left the private practice of law in 2023 to accept an appointment as a Vice-Chair of the Ontario Labour Relations Board.
Mireille is bilingual in French and English and has experience conducting mediations and arbitrations in both languages.
Mediation
Provides effective mediation of labour relations and employment disputes, including rights-based grievances, claims for wrongful dismissal, and human rights issues.
Mireille brings a thoughtful and interest-based approach to dispute resolution.
Arbitration
Offers adjudication of labour relations disputes in public and private sector workplaces under provincial and federal jurisdiction, including grievance arbitration, interest arbitration, and med/arb.
Mireille is known as a practical and attentive adjudicator.
